Remember, You Will Know!
I was reading an article recently and came across an
interesting question – "Are you unhappy because everywhere you go you take yourself with you?"
I talk to people everyday who aren't very happy. They don't like their jobs. They don't like
their co-workers. They don't like their neighbors. They don't like their in-laws. Maybe, just maybe, what they don't like is themselves, and the feeling just gets transferred to whomever is handy.
When your boss gives you an assignment, do you throw yourself into it, doing the best you can? Or do you give it a half-hearted effort, figuring that no one will know the difference? Remember, you will
know.
When you go to the office, have you ever raided the supply cabinet because you needed pens, paperclips, or staples? And did you think it was okay because everyone does it – and besides, no one
would know? Remember, you will know.
When you went to the store and the cashier charged you for 2 rolls of paper towels, and you actually bought 3, did you call the error to her attention? Or
did you remain silent. After all, groceries are expensive so you're entitled to a freebie every now and then – and besides, no one would know. Remember, you will know.
All of these little
things we do (and we all do them) make an impact on us whether we choose to believe it or not. They impact our self–worth. They impact who we are. They impact how we think about ourselves. They
impact how much we like ourselves. So, the next time you find yourself in an unhappy mood and you think it's because of someone else, ponder this question – Are you unhappy because everywhere you go you take
yourself with you?

Become the "Noticer" of all of your actions. Make yourself aware every time you are drawn to do something that you know isn't right,
no matter how trivial it may seem. Then take a deep breath and do the right thing.
Remember, you will know!
Good Luck!
